ICB's Anti-V-Day: What to Do and What NOT to Do This Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day can be two things; a day of romance and love OR a day of loathing and distaste for single people everywhere.

We’re not saying we hate Valentine’s Day, because we don’t, but we definitely think that some people just do this holiday dirty, and at ICB we believe we can make it fun, stylish, and just right. Single or NOT, this day is open to an insane amount of positive energy…the ENERGY you put into it!

Have no fear, though, ICB is here to tell you What to Do and What NOT to Do This Coming Valentines Day:

Do: Dress Up

In lieu of Fashion Week, Valentine’s Day comes at the perfect time (and gives the perfect excuse) to dress up, go out, and show off your style to the world.

DON’T: Take It So Seriously!

Whether you have a date or don’t, people tend to take this holiday far too seriously in either direction. Remember: It’s just a DAY. Don’t fret if you don’t have a special someone to spend it with and definitely don’t brag to your single friends if you do. Just take it like it is, another day with the excuse to go out and feel loved.

DO: Buy Your loved ones THE RIGHT Cupcakes, Sweets, and Goodies

Did someone say Crumbs? Yup. NYC is not only the foodie capital of the world, but also home to some of the most healthiest, and delicious gluten free cupcakes that Valentines Day has to offer. Here’s a list of our top picks to keep you from feeling too guilty!

DON’T: Expect Too Much

We can’t say it enough: it’s just a DAY. Valentine’s Day is only magic if you make it that way, and that won’t happen by expecting all your life’s dreams to come falling into your lap.

DO: Treat Yourself to a bottle of Champagne

Like we said, Valentine’s Day is a day for love, so don’t forget to love yourself!  Whatever it is, remember not to neglect yourself this holiday. By the way, we’re currently loving the look, feel, and taste of Perrier Jouet.

DON’T: Stay Home

And speaking of Champagne, gather your friends, neighbors, and fellow countrymen (or those who just survived New York Fashion Week) and get out to one of NYC’s finest Champagne Bars. Here’s a few we love

DO: Buy Yourself Those Shoes!

Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year, so the possibilities are endless- translation: DO NOT STAY IN BED. You know that Saturday is your favorite shopping day. Listen to that voice in your head that’s telling you “Yes, I may not have a date tonight, but by god I’ll be wearing the most outrageous and amazing pair of shoes this holiday has ever seen.”

DON’T: Be Afraid to Have FUN

And if you’re still hating on the v-day, here’s a song that might make you feel a bit better:
